CogNovo research fellows Vaibhav Tyagi and Pinar Oztop are attending the 2nd MIC Conference 2016 at the Marconi Institute for Creativity on the current trends in the creativity research. The conference covers a wide range of topics pertaining to the field of creativity such as "Creativity in the virtual worlds", "Neuroscience of creativity", "Social aspects of creativity", "Fostering innovation and Entrepreneurship" and many more.
Vaibhav is scheduled to deliver a talk on "The risky side of creativity" in a session relating to "Personality, Motivation and Creativity". This short talk lasting fifteen minutes, is a formal presentation of the research work he has conducted as a part of his PhD project "Value judgments and creative thinking" at CogNovo. His talk deals with the association between Risk taking and Creativity, an association which is often speculated but highly understudied.
Pinar is scheduled to deliver a talk on "Connecting in Creativity: The role of closeness and perspective taking" in a session relating to "Social Aspects of Creativity". This short talk lasting fifteen minutes, is a formal presentation of the two researches she has conducted as a part of her PhD project "Creativity through Social Interaction" at CogNovo. First part of her talk deals with the role of closeness and perspective taking in adult group creativity. In the second part of the talk she talks about development of collaborative creativity with children and adolescents and the role of interpersonal understanding.
The conference has attracted a number of reputed researchers in the field of creativity such as Prof. Mark Runco from University of Georgia and Prof. Joydeep Bhattacharya from Goldsmiths, University of London.
