Roy Ascott, founding president of the Planetary Collegium (which includes i-DAT and Art+Sound research centres), was awarded the Golden Nica in the category of Visionary Pioneers of Media Art for his considerable work and contribution to media arts over the last 55 years
CogNovo Research Fellow Agi Haines was also selected for an honorary mention by Prix Ars Electronica as part of the interactive arts category. As Agi explained “the mention is for my past project ‘Transfigurations,’ in which I looked at how the future of surgical body enhancement may affect the younger and more malleable generation”. The work will be exhibited as part of a Cyber Arts exhibition in parallel with the Ars Electronica festival itself.
