Kathryn B. Francis will appear in a TV programme about creativity on 24th July 2016 on Insight TV channel 279. In this latest episode of "Secrets of the Brain", Kathryn Francis works with Dr Jack Lewis to examine the link between alcohol and creativity. In the episode, an arithmetic task and a creative problem solving task (Remote Associates Task) are presented to Jack at different stages of his alcohol consumption. The design of this live experiment was based on a recent paper demonstrating that moderate alcohol consumption can improve creative problem solving in the Remote Associates Task.
Secrets of the Brain is a new series available on Insight. In the series, neuroscientist Dr Jack Lewis examines a number of topics including fear, pain, language and creativity, utilising remarkable experiments and exploring bizarre medical conditions and illusions, that shed light on the inner workings of the mind.
The episode will be aired on Sunday, 24 JUL 2016 at 9pm on Insight TV Sky Channel 279.
